What does Distrail mean?
A distrail is a clear path that an aircraft leaves through a cloud when it passes through it. The term is short for 'dissipation trail', it is the opposite of a contrail. For us our aim to be always distrialing where seem off course but leading to new paths & risk we never thought of, however Jamie Clive Boyle saw a distrail in the sky which led to him interested within name for the studio. Originating from Studio Maryoku, at each studio that Jamie reorganized and established, the mascot has been reimagined, including Distrail. It is an unidentified, two-footed, hopping rabbit-like creature with aimless purpose.
Jamie Clive Boyle, a British animator, director, and producer, initiated his career at Studio Maryoku and Studio Siroco. His first directorial work, 'Eternal Horizon,' was released during his last college month amidst personal trials. To rekindle his passion for animation, Jamie co-established Studio Distrail, aiming to refine his craft and the film.
In 2019, Jamie mastered traditional animation techniques on his own and co-created Studio Maryoku with Alfie Tanner. With producer Harry Taylor and composer Dan Guo, they produced 'Eternal Horizon.' The film, also Jamie's final college assignment, garnered 150 views in its debut month without any promotion. Crafted in two weeks, it consisted of over 200 frames.
